The human rights situation in Bangladesh has been of increasing concern over the past few years, as outlined by Odhikar’s annual Human Rights Report 2015.
This informative report addresses human rights violations, particularly the state of rights of citizens after the highly controversial parliamentary elections of 2014 and in the face of alarming levels of enforced disappearances and extra-judicial killings. This report also addresses the violations of minority rights, women’s rights and the draconian laws. The overall indication of the report addresses the impunity of state agencies and lack of accountability and provides recommendations for improving and respecting the human rights of the people of Bangladesh.
