The family of Md. Shirajul Islam (45), a resident of the village of Villager Para at Chakaria Upazila in the Cox’s Bazar district, alleged that he was killed by brutal police beating on May 14, 2008. The allegation of beating was corroborated by a witness to the incident. The police authorities also confirmed that the allegation of beating had been proved through a primary investigation.
