Odhikar has been working with human rights issues in relation to elections since 1995. As a continuing endeavour Odhikar monitors national elections, by-elections, city corporation elections, and local government elections whenever they are held. Odhikar has also been observing national and local government elections in a number of Asian countries as an international observer. Realising the importance of free, fair, credible and neutral elections, Odhikar, as mobile election observer, highlights human rights issues relating to elections, and presents recommendations for the purposes of achieving its objectives.
